Transformers Unicron Throughout The Years
Addicts of Transformers well remember Transformers: The Movie, which followed on the heels of the very profitable child's cartoon in the eighties. Equally as memorable for the Transformers target audience is the super-villain of the animated film, Unicron, the eater of planets. However, it was not until 2003 that Hasbro launched a Unicron action figure although the persona has been around since the mid-80s.
The "Original" Unicron -
Since the second season of the Transformers cartoon tv series ended, makers of Transformers: The Movie needed a brand new "bad guy" to carry Transformers to the next level. The perfect solution turned into a huge, planet-sized destructive robot referred to as Unicron.
Within the plot of Transformers: The Movie, Unicron offered the conquered Decepticon commander, Megatron, new forces as well as a new body so as to enact Megatron's revenge on Optimus Prime and the Autobots.

Unicron Action Figures -
At first, Hasbro, the maker of Transformers toys and games, decided to release a Unicron figure to coincide with the release of the film, however the item never was launched. Unicron toys became readily available upon the twentieth anniversary of Transformers: The Movie.
