Transformers Unicron - A Popular Transformers Action Figure

Transformers Unicron Throughout The Years

Addicts of Transformers well remember Transformers: The Movie, which followed on the heels of the very profitable child's cartoon in the eighties. Equally as memorable for the Transformers target audience is the super-villain of the animated film, Unicron, the eater of planets. However, it was not until 2003 that Hasbro launched a Unicron action figure although the persona has been around since the mid-80s.

The "Original" Unicron -

Since the second season of the Transformers cartoon tv series ended, makers of Transformers: The Movie needed a brand new "bad guy" to carry Transformers to the next level. The perfect solution turned into a huge, planet-sized destructive robot referred to as Unicron.

Within the plot of Transformers: The Movie, Unicron offered the conquered Decepticon commander, Megatron, new forces as well as a new body so as to enact Megatron's revenge on Optimus Prime and the Autobots.

Generally known as the Cybertronian God of Darkness and Chaos, Chaos Bringer and Universal Dominator, the transformer Unicron's true intention was to get the Autobots out of his way. After Unicron was conquered in the long run his head evolved into a new moon on the transformer's home planet, Cybertron, and from there, the Transformers tale carried on with Unicron now as a staple villain, but just in the Japanese editions which succeeded the American shows and motion picture. Like all good villains though, Unicron was depressed but not out in the U.S.

The Unicron Trilogy -

The makers of Transformers eventually capitalized on their introduction of a brand-new villain, generating what would become the "Unicron Trilogy": Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon and Transformers: Cybertron. You could even declare that Unicron was re-introduced in to the tale, but hardcore followers who kept on the top of Transformers in the very beginning and overseas were acquainted with the character.

The current transformers Unicron came out in the early 2000s with a lot of the same features of its initial representation. Though in the Unicron trilogy, the planet-sized villain merely ruins and absorbs planetary power rather than eating them as the eighties version could.

Also, the new model of Unicron possessed more evil features and fed off of the carnage of war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. As a twist in the Unicron trilogy, the two groups of the warring transformers put their own difficulties aside and joined forces in order to stop Unicron's plot.

Unicron Action Figures -

At first, Hasbro, the maker of Transformers toys and games, decided to release a Unicron figure to coincide with the release of the film, however the item never was launched. Unicron toys became readily available upon the twentieth anniversary of Transformers: The Movie. Some figures were grouped together as deluxe collector's things with comic books contained in the product packaging, but keeping up with the more youthful, newer viewers as well, numerous Unicron types kept with the Transformers custom and were ideal for age range 5 and up.
